The Planning Board approved plans proposed by Topsham Property Holdings on Tuesday for a Panera Bread at 75 Topsham Fair Mall Road.
Town Planner Rich Roedner said via an email to The Times Record that there was no comment during a public hearing on the proposed site plan and conditional use permit for the 4,140-square-foot restaurant. The board approved the plans with no significant conditions of approval.
Topsham Property Holdings LLC is a company of Priority Real Estate Group. Jim Howard, president and chief executive officer of Priority Real Estate Group, said recently he hopes to start construction by Nov. 1 and have Panera Bread open by April 2013.
The board continued a public hearing on a site plan amendment submitted by Grimmel Industries for 80 Pejepscot Village, pending a site walk, Roedner wrote. A tentative site walk is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Oct. 2, with the expectation the board would take up the application again at the board’s regular meeting that evening. During the hearing, Roedner said public comments were made about truck noise and debris and noise from the facility.
