AUBURN — Visiting Brunswick High School picked up its first Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference field hockey win, getting two goals from Ariel Bouchard in a 3-0 victory at Edward Little on Tuesday.

Grace Rabinowitz added a goal, Lillian Kjellman and Michelle Ingram chipped in an assist each, and goaltender Sydney Escoe turned aside 18 shots for the shutout as Brunswick improved to 1-5-1 and hosts Brewer on Thursday.

Edward Little (2-5) outshot the Dragons 18-7, and finished with a 13-2 edge in penalty corners.

MT. ARARAT 1

Mt. Ararat High School picked up its fifth straight win on Tuesday with a 1-0 KVAC blanking of Oxford Hills.

The Eagles improved to 5-2 and are scheduled to visit Messalonskee Thursday at Thomas College.

Mt. Ararat outshot the 0-5-1 Vikings 14-4 and led in penalty corners 10-5, with goaltender Taylor Pare making for saves and Oxford Hills’ Abi Egan 13 stops.

Caitlin LaFountain scored off a Mallory Nelson feed with 16:30 left second half.

TRAIP ACADEMY 1

Traip picked up a Western Maine Conference home wind to end the Falcons’ five-game winning streak.

The lone goal of the game was scored by Kaylie Andrews with 14 minutes left in the first half off a penalty corner.

Tallie Martin of Freeport (5-2) had 15 saves, while Emily Bolton of Traip had seven stops.

The Falcons dipped to 5-2 and are scheduled to host North Yarmouth Academy on Thursday.

MORSE 1

Morse lost to Belfast in a tough KVAC contest on Tuesday.

Morse held Belfast to a scoreless tie over the first half. Belfast came out in the second half and scored a goal five minutes in, and Morse’s Abby Moore answered with a shot from the corner post five minutes later.

The visiting Lions added two more second-half goals.

Morse standouts included Tasha Jacobs, Aysia McCloud, Shira Gersh, Jasmine Thibodeau, Marisabel Rodriguez and goaltender Bryanna Ringrose with six saves.

Morse is now 0-7 and scheduled to host Maranacook on Thursday.
