Maine State Police are asking the public’s help in identifying a backpack-wearing burglary suspect whose photo was taken by a surveillance camera inside a building that was recently robbed.

The photo was taken in late August in the Belgrade-Rome-Smithfield area, which had been hit by a number of burglaries in recent months.

Troopers are not identifying the town where the most recent burglary took place. The photo shows a middle-aged man, wearing large wire-rimmed glasses, and wearing a backpack.

The state police are asking that anyone with information to call them at 624-7076, and ask for Trooper John Lacoste.
