PHIPPSBURG — A new outdoor worship experience, led by the Rev. Mark Wilson of the Phippsburg United Church of Christ, begin on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at the Wilbur Preserve, Cox’s Head.
“The theme will be mountaintop experiences, so if you have a mountaintop poem or story or song to share, bring it,” states a release from the church. Participants are advised to wear good walking or light hiking shoes as the group will be walking to the top of a hill on a forest trail.
The “Sermon on the Mount” will be read. Organizers suggest carpooling if possible. An offering will be taken to support a local nonprofit group. Bring picnictype food or drink to share. The service will be held, weather permitting.
For more information, call Wilson at 522-2463 or email pastor@phippsburgucc.org.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
