GORHAM — A forum Thursday night will address whether to have all-day kindergarten in the town’s elementary schools.

The Gorham School Committee is inviting the public to discuss the issue at 7 p.m. in the council chambers in the Gorham Municipal Center.

A committee of school officials and community members over the next few months will explore the possibility of expanding the current half-day program – a change that a group of parents petitioned the school board to add to its budget last spring.

Although their effort failed, the school board agreed to discuss the issue this fall and decided to form an exploratory committee, which plans to make a recommendation to the school board in December.
