NAPLES, FL — Omer J. Fortin, 89, resident of Naples, FL formerly of Topsham and Freeport died Monday, September 3, 2012 in Bonita Springs, FL. He was born February 24, 1923 in Grand Isle, ME a son of Louis and Olive (Madore) Fortin.

Omer was employed as a carpenter for most of his life and also had operated a farm in Freeport for over 40 years.

He was a longtime communicant of St. John’s Church of Brunswick. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and also enjoyed tending to his gardens.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 in St. John’s Church, Pleasant Street in Brunswick. Interment will follow in Burr Cemetery, Freeport. Should friends desire, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Brackett Funeral Home, Brunswick.
