PORTLAND — Superintendent Emmanuel “Manny” Caulk will host a series of forums over the next two months to hear what parents and residents have to say about the public school system.

Caulk was hired in July and started work last week. He will host a series of “Listening and Learning” forums in the coming weeks to hear what people like about Portland schools and what they’d like to see improved.

Forums will take place on the following dates and locations:

— Sept. 5 at 3 p.m. at Reiche Elementary School amphitheater

— Sept. 12 from 5-7:30 p.m. at Peaks Island Elementary School

— Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. at Lyseth Elementary School

— Sept. 26 at 7:30 p.m. at Portland High School

— Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. at Riverton Elementary School

— Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. at East End Community School

— Oct. 18 from 2-3 p.m. and 4-5 p.m. at Deering High School
