STANDISH – A Standish man is facing multiple charges in connection with the burglary of a store last month.

Vincent Lombardi, 39, of Saco Road, was charged last week with burglary, theft and criminal mischief for his involvement in the burglary of the Patches Store on Chadbourne Road in Standish on July 18. Thousands of dollars’ worth of alcohol and cigarettes were stolen and have yet to be recovered, police said in a statement. Significant damage was also done to the store’s video surveillance system during the commission of the crime in an effort to conceal the suspect’s identity.

According to police, Lombardi was recently linked to this crime when forensic evidence seized by investigators at the crime scene was analyzed by forensic technicians at the Maine Crime Lab. Investigators continue to investigate Lombardi’s connection to other southern Maine commercial burglaries.

Lombardi had previously been arrested on Aug. 21 and charged with burglary, theft and violating conditions of release in connection with incidents at J. Brothers Variety 44 Gray Road in Cumberland and Pit Stop Fuels at 125 Ossipee Trail East in Standish.
