BRUNSWICK — A Single and Parenting group will begin meeting at Maine Street Baptist Church on Sept. 16 to help address some unique challenges facing single parents.
“As a single parent, you know there aren’t many people who truly understand the unique challenges you face,” states a release from the church. “You desire to do what’s best for your kids, and worry that you aren’t. Sometimes, it’s all you can do to survive from one day to the next.”
The group will meet for 13 weeks from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the church. Participants will watch dynamic video sessions featuring single parenting experts, the stories of single parents, and instructional parenting demonstrations, as well as join in a time of small group discussion.
The church is located at 326 Upper Maine St., across from Parkview Adventist Medical Center. For more information, call 725-7303.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
