Tax commitments available online

The town of Pownal has published its 2012-2013 real estate tax information for the entire town. Any interested residents can go to www.pownalmaine.org and download a copy of the town’s tax commitment book. The entire town report is also available for download on the town’s website as well.

Town office hours

The Pownal Town Office, located in Mallett Hall, is open Mondays from 8:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. and Tuesdays through Thursdays from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The town office is closed Fridays and weekends. For more information, call 688-4611.

Town office to close for election training

Pownal’s town office will be closed on Wednesday, Sept. 26 and Thursday, Sept. 27 for staff election training. The office is normally closed on Fridays, so the office will reopen on Monday, Oct. 1.

Congregational Church news

Food pantry open ?on Tuesdays

The North Pownal United Methodist Church on Lawrence Road has new hours for distributing food from its pantry. It is now open every Tuesday from 10:30 a.m.- noon. Volunteers never know from week to week what will be available, but the pantry usually gets different kinds of breads, produce, desserts, etc. All are welcome.
