DURHAM – The family of a man injured in a hit and run in Durham last September is now offering a reward to find the driver of the car.
According to the Tri-Town Weekly’s media partners at WCSH-6, Reney Henry of Lisbon was training on his bicycle for the Dempsey Challenge on a straight stretch of Route 136 in Durham last Sept. 12. Henry said he was wearing bright colors and riding in the shoulder when a sliver sedan clipped him.
The crash sent him flying. Henry broke his eye socket, and suffered some scrapes, but no permanent damage, though he told WCSH he does suffer from double vision every now and then.
The crash didn’t keep Henry off his bike for long. He said since so many people had already donated to see him ride in the Dempsey Challenge, he decided to get right back on his bike and ride it, just four weeks after the crash.
Henry’s family is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the driver’s arrest. One with any information can contact the Henrys through a website they’ve set up at whohitme.weebly.com or call the Maine State Police at 657-3030.
