PORTLAND — Brandon Workman fired six shutout innings in his Double-A debut, and Xander Bogaerts continued his impressive start to his Double-A career as the Portland Sea Dogs (56-65) crushed the Altoona Curve (59-62), 13-2 Tuesday night at Hadlock Field.

The Sea Dogs have won five straight at Hadlock Field and are 14-4 at home since the All- Star break.

Workman (1-0), who was promoted from Single A Salem on August 8, allowed two hits and did not walk a batter while striking out six. He retired the first 12 hitters he faced and received plenty of run support from his teammates.

Bogaerts, the No. 2-ranked prospect in the Boston Red Sox organization by Baseball America, went 2-for-4 with an infield single, a home run, two runs scored and three RBI.

The Sea Dogs also received home runs from Marquez Smith and Ronald Bermudez.
