The 78th Monhegan Moonlight Regatta, Maine’s largest and longest offshore sailing race, was held over the weekend.

The racers started in 7-plus knots of wind, which continued to build through the day Friday afternoon and started to drop after midnight.

The wind remained light for most of Saturday, and the Seguin Island Division racers started crossing the finish line as early as 9:05 a.m.

The top finishers:

• Monhegan Island Race Division 1: Revolution XII, skippered by Doyle Marchant; Big Dog Party, skippered by Pete Price; and Blue Moon skippered by Richard Thornton.

• Monhegan Island Race Division 2: Intangible, skippered by Wolfgang Bauchinger; Go Dog Go, skippered by David Ruff; County Girl, skippered by Bill Newberry.

• Monhegan Island Double Handed Class: Buzz, skippered by Richard Stevenson, Cats Paw, skippered by Butch Minson, and Beagle, skippered by Nat Henshaw.

• Manana Island Class: Morning Star, skippered by Jim Palmer; Milady, skippered by Max Jennings; and Palangi, skippered by David Sherman.

• Seguin Island Class: Tittravate, skippered by Steve Ribble; and Sugar Sugar, skippered by Scott Thomas

• Multihull Class: Supply and Demand, skippered by Casey Mulligan; and Alegra, skippered by Peter Garcia.

Paul Murray aced the 176-yard 10th hole at the Rockland Golf Club on July 29. Murray, from Sandwich, Mass., used a 6-iron while playing in a foursome with his wife, Jennifer, and sons, James and Matthew.

Jay Novella sank his fourth hole-in-one, using a 9-iron on the 155-yard 11th hole at Martindale on July 31. Fabien Labadie and Rossignol witnessed the shot.

Glenn Tracey recorded his first hole-in-one at Martindale Country Club on Aug. 4. Tracey, from Auburn, used a 3-hybrid to ace the 232-yard 9th hole. Witnesses were Jon Wallingford, Peter Cretella and John Collins.
