QUNCY, Mass. — A steady rain Sunday night delayed Portland’s bid to remain alive in the New England Babe Ruth baseball tournament at Adams Field.

Portland was scheduled to play a losers’-bracket game against Quincy, Mass. Instead the teams will play at 1 p.m. Monday.

If Portland defeats Quincy, it will remain at Adams Field and then play another losers’-bracket game against Pittsfield, Mass.

Pittsfield (2-1) advanced in the double-elimination tournament by eliminating Coventry, R.I., 15-8.

TWILIGHT LEAGUE

LENDERS 5, AERO 4: Troy Thibodeau’s solo home run in the ninth inning lifted third-seeded Lenders over second-seeded Aero in the playoffs at Portland.

Todd Kenneborus and John Carey had three hits and scored two runs apiece for Lenders. Carey added two RBI.

Taylor Candage pitched the last five innings for Lenders and struck out seven without allowing a run.

Collin Henry had a three-run homer for Aero.

Lenders will face Yankee Ford in a best-of-three series starting Friday.

SENIOR LEAGUE

TALBOT, MD. 11, SCARBROUGH 3: Talbot, Md., used a 13-hit offense to eliminate Scarborough from the Eastern Regional with a victory at West Deptford, N.J.

Scarborough kept it close until Talbot scored six runs in the fifth inning.

Austin Pemberton had an RBI double for Scarborough, which scored its other two runs on an error and a walk.

JUNIOR LEAGUE

TRI-TOWN 6, STANDISH 5: Billy Bickford closed the game with two scoreless innings of relief for Tri-Town, which took advantage of errors to score the tying run in the seventh inning and the winning run in the eighth to end its best-of-three series at Standish.

Bickford and Tanner Marston each finished with two hits for Tri-Town, which advanced to the state tournament.

Max Salevsky of Standish struck out four and allowed eight hits.

BRUNSWICK 6, BRUNO’S 5: John Parker hit a two-run walk-off double in the seventh inning as Brunswick, at home, evened the best-of-three series.

Bruno’s trailed 4-2 before scoring three in the top of the seventh on an RBI single by Domenic Fagone and a two-run single by Ryan Dixon.

The final game will be played at 5:15 p.m. Monday at Deering Oaks in Portland.

FAIRFIELD 7, LIBBY- MITCHELL 3: Cody Martin had an RBI and scored twice as Fairfield Post 14 won at Scarborough to even the best-of-three series.

Ben Frazee added a pair of hits to go with a run batted in for Fairfield.

Justin Reynolds had two hits, an RBI and a run for Libby-Mitchell.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 1, BIDDEFORD SAVINGS BANK 0: Tyler St. Pierre scored on a single by J.T. Mango as Gray-New Gloucester eliminated Biddeford Savings Bank at New Gloucester.

St. Pierre also recorded the win, throwing the last four innings, striking out four and scattering three hits.

Kevin Descoteaux struck out three in a four-hitter for Biddeford.
