TOPSHAM — Pauline M. LaMarque age 83 died Monday, July 30th in the Governor King wing of The Highlands with her daughters and her granddaughter at her side.
She was born in Brunswick on July 7th, 1929 the daughter of Armand and Alice Rochefort Helie. She attended St. John’s School and later graduated from Mt. Ararat High School in 1985 through the Merrymeeting Adult Education program.
On July 3rd, 1947 she married Peter Paul LaMarque in Brunswick, Maine. He died December 21, 1976. As a young couple they built their home on Garden Drive in Topsham where she lived for 41 years.
Pauline worked at the Health-Tex Corporation in Brunswick for many years and later at Coffin School as noon-time aide for a few years until she retired.
She enjoyed spending time at her cottage on Moosehead Lake with her family and especially her dear sister Claire, attending family gatherings, worshipping at St. John’s Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister, traveling, reading and taking long walks.
Surviving are her two daughters Louise LaMarque Main and her husband Randall Main of Pittston, Maine and Marie Koller and her husband Timothy Koller Sr. of Lusby, Maryland. Five grandchildren Melissa Grabenstein of Freeport, Maine and Peter Lavigne of Burlington, Vermont; Timothy Koller Jr. of Edenton, North Carolina, Sarah Jernigan of St. Leonard, Maryland, and Luke Koller of Lusby, Maryland. Two great-grandaughters Emma Grabenstein of Freeport, Maine and Briley Koller of Edenton, North Carolina, in addition to several nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her brothers Ovila Helie, Robert Helie, and Maurice Helie; and by her sister, Claire Gamache and her sonin law Michael Lavigne.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 7th at 12 Noon at St. Johns the Baptist Church-All Saints Parish, Pleasant St., Brunswick. A graveside committal service will be Tuesday, August 7th at 2PM at the Old Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter, 383 US Rt. 1, Suite 2C, Scarborough, Maine 04074.
