SOUTH PORTLAND – First Title earned a berth in the American Legion baseball state tournament by downing Cumberland 7-1 and capturing second place in the Zone 4 championships Thursday at Wainwright Fields.

Louis DiStasio pitched a four-hitter with 14 strikeouts for First Title (16-7) against Cumberland (15-7).

DiStasio also had three RBI on three hits with a pair of runs. Nic Lops added three hits with an RBI and run, and Harry Ridge scored and had three hits.

FAYETTE-STAPLES 11, KENNEBUNK 2: Jeff Gelinas struck out 11 in 82/3 innings as top-seeded Fayette-Staples (15-5) won the Zone 5 title by beating second-seeded Kennebunk (13-7) at Old Orchard Beach.

Gelinas also had three RBI. Alex Fallon drove in two runs and Steve Harmon scored three with two hits for Fayette-Staples.

CHASE CUSTOM HOMES 7, BIDDEFORD SAVINGS BANK 6: Andrew Schmidt scored on an infield error in the seventh as Chase Custom Homes (9-8) edged Biddeford Savings Bank (10-6) at Gorham.

Andrew Schmidt had a two-run single in the fifth inning and Jordan Ward added a two-run double in the sixth for Chase Custom Homes.

TRI-TOWN 5, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Tanner Marston had two of Tri-Town’s six hits, scored twice and drove home a third run at Minot.

Shawn Murphy pitched a four-hitter for the win.

MASSABESIC EAGLES 3, LIBBY-MITCHELL 3: Eric Strickland singled home Seth Drown in the top of the ninth, but Justin Reynolds tied it on a passed ball in the bottom of the inning as Massabesic Eagles (6-10-1) and Libby-Mitchell (11-5-1) tied in a game stopped by darkness at Scarborough.

STANDISH POST 8, SOUTH PORTLAND 2: Eric Dennison scored on C.J. Dunnells’ sacrifice fly, and Devin Butler doubled home Max Salevsky as Standish Post (9-8) scored twice in the third inning to take a 3-2 lead against visiting South Portland (7-8).
