The Westbrook Senior Citizens are planning three trips.
The group will travel to Killington, Vt., on Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 9 and 10; then, they will venture out on a nine-day trip to the Smokey Mountains in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., from Saturday, Nov. 3, to Sunday, Nov. 11; the group does not have a confirmed date yet but will go to Indian Head in Lincoln, N.H., for a Christmas show.

WHS music alumni
reunion Aug. 4
The Westbrook High School music alumni will hold a reunion 4-9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, at the high school.
A potluck supper and reception will be in the cafeteria and band and music rooms will be open all evening. An alumni band will perform in concert at 7 p.m. in the auditorium;.
The reunion is open to all Westbrook High School alumni who participated in the music program during their years at the high school. Former and current faculty members are expected to attend.

Hula Hoop Jam
A Hula Hoop Jam at Riverbank Park every Thursday from 6-7:30 p.m. will be held through the end of the summer.
Beginners are welcome. Take a hoop, or hoops to share will be available.
Eagles show
Comic relief with Hope Rogers and Friends will be at Westbrook Eagles, 89 Saco St., 8-11 p.m. on Saturday, July 28. For more information or tickets, costing $10 for age 21 and up, call 415-1547.
Food program
at teen center
Mission Possible Teen Center, 755 Main St., has announced its participation in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program.
Meals are available at no separate charge to all enrolled participants without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.

Stolen Mojo will entertain in a free concert from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, in Riverbank Park on Main Street.
Monthly Payment
at Saccarappa Park
The new music series, Bands on the Boardwalk, presents Monthly Payment on Thursday, July 26, from 5-7:30 p.m. at Saccarappa Park. The concert series, which runs through Aug. 30, is free.
Springbrook Center wins quality award
Springbrook Center, a 123-bed Genesis HealthCare skilled nursing facility in Westbrook, has been recognized as a 2012 recipient of the Silver – Achievement in Quality award presented by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living.
The competitive award highlights select facilities across the nation that serve as models of excellence in providing high quality care. Springbrook Center on Spring Street was one of only 52 facilities nationwide to receive the silver-level award this year.
“I am so proud of the hard work and dedication our team here has shown to achieve this distinction and provide quality care to our patients and residents every day,” Bonnie Roth, Springbrook administrator, said.
