SOUTH PORTLAND – Tim Rovnak finished with two hits, including a two-run triple, and scored four runs Saturday to lead fifth-seeded Andrews Post to a 13-10 victory against fourth-seeded Falmouth in an American Legion Zone 4 tournament opener Saturday.

The eight-team, double-elimination event continues with four games today at Wainwright Fields.

Brett Emmertz had a pair of hits, including a double, drove in two runs and scored twice to pace Falmouth (11-8), which trailed 13-4 going into the bottom of the eighth against Andrews (11-8).

SACO & BIDDEFORD SAVINGS OF WESTBROOK 8, OA-YARMOUTH 7: Keenan Lowe struck out 10 with no earned runs over eight-plus innings and also had a pair of hits as top-seeded Saco & Biddeford Savings of Westbrook (14-5) built an 8-3 lead and held off eighth-ranked OA-Yarmouth (8-11) at South Portland.

Sam Stauble added two hits and three RBI, and Caleb Kent had a pair of hits and stole home for Saco & Biddeford Savings.

Ryan Cavallaro went 4 for 5 with three RBI for OA-Yarmouth.

CUMBERLAND 16, MOODY’S 11: Jonah Normandeau and Matt Ames each hit two-run doubles during a six-run first inning as third-seeded Cumberland (13-6) downed sixth-seeded Moody’s (9-10) at South Portland.

Cumberland broke the game open with a seven-run fifth, sparked by RBI singles from Normandeau and Will Bryant.

Alex McCarthy finished with three RBI for Moody’s.

FIRST TITLE OF MAINE 8, MORRILL POST 0: Louie DiStasio struck out 17 while pitching eight innings of four-hit ball to power second-seeded First Title (13-6) to a first-round victory over seventh-seeded Morrill Post (9-10) at South Portland.

Mitchell Powers of First Title struck out the side in the ninth.

Powers singled home Harry Ridge to begin a three-run fourth. First Title added two in the seventh and three in the eighth. Felix Del Vecchio doubled home a run in the eighth before scoring on DiStasio’s sacrifice fly.

DiStasio finished with two hits, a run and an RBI.

LEGION REGULAR SEASON

KENNEBUNK 5, NOBLE 1: Bobby Eckland scored three runs and drove in two more Saturday to lead Kennebunk (12-6) over visiting Noble (5-13).

MASSABESIC 6, SACO-BIDDEFORD SAVINGS 4: Jake Pelchat hit a two-run homer during a three-run ninth inning to lift Massabesic (12-6) over Saco-Biddeford Savings (11-6) at Biddeford.

BONANZA 11, FAYETTE-STAPLES 10: Ethan Gouin’s grounder bounced through the hole between first and second, scoring Ryan Camire with the go-ahead run in the 10th inning as Bonanza (3-15) beat Fayette-Staples (13-5) at Saco.

CUMBERLAND 6, TRI-TOWN 5: Ben Jagolinzer walked, stole second and scored the winning run on an error to lift Cumberland (11-4) to an eight-inning victory against visiting Tri-Town (11-3).

SOUTH PORTLAND 8, FAYETTE-STAPLES 6: Sam Solomon hit a two-run double to break a 6-6 tie in the sixth inning and lift South Portland (7-8) over visiting Fayette-Staples (4-11).

CHASE CUSTOM HOMES 4, MASSABESIC 3: Sam Kilborn lined a one-out single to right- center in the seventh inning, driving in Mike Chapin with the game-ending run as Chase Custom Homes (8-7) edged Massabesic (6-9) at Gorham.

FAIRFIELD 7, FIRST TITLE 0: Cole Robinson threw the first five innings and Cody Martin closed out the final two for Fairfield, combining for 11 strikeouts in a no-hitter against First Title (5-10) at Portland.

SOMERSET 15, FALMOUTH 5: Dylan Belanger hit a two-run triple and Ethan Liberty added a two-run double in an eight-run fourth inning for Somerset (9-6) against visiting Falmouth (3-12).

SCARBOROUGH 4, WALDO COUNTY 2: Jared Brooks, Zoltan Panji and Connor Kelly combined on a no-hitter for Scarborough in the state tournament at Bar Harbor.

Scarborough took a 2-0 first-inning lead when Morgan Pratt and Kelly singled, and scored on bases-loaded walks. Ogden Timpson singled and scored to make it 3-0 in the fourth. Panji drove in Brooks in the fifth.

DIRIGO 4, COASTAL 3: Jake Hendsbee tripled and scored the winning run on an overthrow in the seventh inning.

JUNIOR LEAGUE

SCARBOROUGH 6, ACADIAN 4: Nick Lorello and Matt Caron each singled and scored on an error during a three-run first inning, and Scarborough took an early lead and never trailed in the opening game of the state tournament at Bangor.

Lorello finished with three hits, and Caron and Anthony Simoneau added two apiece for Scarborough.

BABE RUTH 14

CENTRAL MAINE 17, TRI-COUNTY NORTH 3: Danny Pooler doubled, tripled and finished with three hits, and Derek Bowen added two singles and a double as Central Maine advanced to the championship game of the state tournament at Fairfield.

MIDCOAST 8, APPLE VALLEY 1: Nick Depatsy was the winning pitcher and also hit a single as Midcoast won an elimination game.

MIDCOAST 20, TRI-COUNTY NORTH 2: Alex Flagg and Nick Mazurek had three hits apiece as Midcoast cruised in an elimination game.

Midcoast will meet Central Maine in the final at 1 p.m. today. If Midcoast wins, a second game will follow.

APPLE VALLEY 4, WESTBROOK 2: Alan Curtis and Dan Lyon combined on a four-hitter as Apple Valley edged Westbrook in the state tournament at Deering Oaks.

PORTLAND 6, SOMERSET 1: Brad Sowerby struck out 12 and walked two while throwing a two-hitter for Portland.

Dan Kane hit a three-run double in the first inning, and Don Fagone added a two-run double during a three-run sixth.

AUBURN SUBURBAN 14, MIDCOAST 6: Alex Sterling hit a two-run double during a seven-run seventh inning for Auburn Suburban.

SOUTHERN YORK 13, FRANKLIN COUNTY 3: John Neal hit three doubles, drove in three runs and pitched four innings as Southern York won in five innings. Alan Chambers added three hits and three RBI for Southern York.

SOMERSET 6, AUGUSTA 4: William Stinson closed the game with four scoreless innings of relief for Somerset, which scored the go-ahead run in the fourth in an elimination game at the state tournament at Harrison.

AUGUSTA 9, SANFORD 7: Mark Buzzell had a pair of hits as Augusta eliminated Sanford.

Frank Veino and Brad Bouchard had two hits apiece for Sanford.
