Scarborough police are asking for the public’s help to nab the person or persons who broke into the Oak Hill Citgo station on Route 1 last night.

Police say forced entry was made through the rear of the building sometime between 10:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:40 a.m. Friday. Multiple cartons and individual boxes of cigarettes were stolen in assorted brands, along with rolled coins. Police say Village Center Auto Care, located across the street from the Citgo station, also had its building “tampered with” last night, although the culprits were unable to gain entry to that building.

Anyone who has information on the incident, or who believes they may have seen suspicious activity in the Oak Hill area last night, is asked to call the Scarborough Police Department Detective Bureau at 883-6361, or the anonymous crime tip hotline at 730-4200, ext 3093.
