BATH — Majella Miller Snell, age 82, passed away late Tuesday evening in her home after a short illness.

Majella, “Snooky” to her family, was born in Bath, Maine on February 20, 1930 to Carolyn and Justice Miller. She attended Morse High School and graduated in 1947. She spent a number of years living in New York, NY with her late husband Frank Snell, who was an advertising executive. They retired together in the small village of Mijas, Spain where they spent 30 wonderful years. Majella and Frank traveled extensively to Greece, Egypt, and most of Europe. After making many friends in London, England, Majella and Frank decided to live a small part of each year there while continuing their main residence in Spain. They frequently came to the continental U.S. and the U.S.V.I. to visit their children and grandchildren. Later in life, they decided to settle in Majella’s home town of Bath. Majella had a passion for the arts, travel, fine wine, and her membership in Grace Episcopal

Church Choir.

Majella was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Snell, who passed away in 2001, and her two sisters Carolyn “Skippy” Miller Granducci, and Nancy Miller Smith.

Majella is survived by her daughter Ann Hill Peaslee and her partner Lawrence Michael Worden of Georgetown, Maine; two grandchildren, Kevin Peaslee of Georgia, and Gretchen Wight of Windham, Maine; great grandchild Emma Peaslee of Georgia; three step children Christopher Snell and Nicholas Snell of California, and Hilary Snell of New York; and many nieces and one nephew.

A funeral mass will be held in honor of her life at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 28th at Grace Episcopal Church.
