WESTBROOK – The city of Westbrook is applying for a grant that would fund the extension of an open space project in neighboring Falmouth.

The City Council recently voted unanimously to pursue a pair of grants totaling $130,000 to acquire and improve 35 acres of land off Mast Road, to be used for recreational and open space use.

The request follows the town of Falmouth purchasing 95 acres for a similar open space in that town that borders the Westbrook property.
