PORTLAND — For leadership efforts highlighted by a multi-pronged approach to youth financial education, the Maine Credit Union League and its credit unions were recently presented with a national Desjardins Youth Financial Education Award from the Credit Union National Association.
According to a news release, Maine’s credit unions received the national award for a record-setting 10th consecutive year.
At a ceremony in Washington, D.C., Richard Dupuis, president/CEO of Five County CU and a board member of the Maine Credit Union League, accepted the award and called it “a special honor to have the league and Maine’s credit unions recognized for doing something that is essential to helping our kids be financially prepared and, ultimately, successful as adult consumers.”
