PORTLAND (AP) — Storms that moved through the Portland area have forced the city to postpone its July Fourth celebrations by a day.

The Stars and Stripes Spectacular concert and fireworks display has been rescheduled for today following the thunderstorms that crossed the area on Wednesday.

The schedule remains the same with the concert by the Portland Symphony Orchestra kicking off on the Eastern Promenade at 7:40 p.m., followed the fireworks at about 9:20 p.m.

The concert will feature pieces by John Philip Sousa, Aaron Copland, John Williams and Tchaikovsky.

About 50,000 are expected to watch the privately-funded program.
