BRUNSWICK

The back gate to Brunswick Landing, the former Brunswick Naval Air Station, opened to pedestrian and bicycle traffic Friday, redevelopment officials announced this week.

The Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority signed an easement with the U.S. Navy giving MRRA responsibility for the section of roadway near the golf course until it is transferred to MRRA, according to a release.

A fence blocking the roadway was due to be removed Friday, although a cement barrier preventing vehicular traffic will remain.
