ATLANTA – The Arizona Diamondbacks placed Daniel Hudson on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with a right elbow injury that could lead to season-ending surgery.
Manager Kirk Gibson said an MRI exam Wednesday showed a tear in Hudson’s ulnar collateral ligament. Tommy John ligament-replacement surgery is possible; Gibson said Hudson could seek a second opinion.
ROCKIES: Colorado recalled left-hander Edwar Cabrera from Double-A Tulsa.
MARINERS: Starter Kevin Millwood left the game against Oakland after only 22/3 innings because of a groin injury.
TWINS: Minnesota optioned right-handed reliever Jeff Manship back to Triple-A Rochester.
WHITE SOX: Chicago designatef left-handed reliever Will Ohman for assignment.
ORIOLES: Baltimore activated reliever Matt Lindstrom from the disabled list and optioned utility player Steve Tolleson to Triple-A Norfolk.
ROYALS: Kansas City recalled left-hander Everett Teaford and outfielder Jason Bourgeois from Triple-A Omaha, and optioned left-hander Francisley Bueno. Catcher Humberto Quintero was designated for assignment.
CUBS: Chicago designated right-hander Randy Wells for assignment and recalled right-hander Rafael Dolis from Triple-A Iowa.
