PORTLAND — Kevin Howard launched a two-run home run in the 13th inning as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats came away with a 5-3 Eastern League victory over the Portland Sea Dogs on Tuesday at Hadlock Field.

Mark Sobolewski singled with one out in the 13th and Howard drove a Chris Balcom Miller (3-5) pitch over the right-field fence.

Down 3-0, the Sea Dogs rallied to force extra innings, Derrik Gibson, who was 3-for- 4, Peter Hissey and Jackie Bradley Jr., singled to load the bases in the seventh inning. Jeremy Hazelbaker’s single plated two runs to bring Portland within a run, 3-2. The Sea Dogs tied the game on a double-play grounder by Marquez Smith.

Portland had a chance for a walk-off win in the 11th, loading the bases against New Hampshire reliever Scott Gracey with one out. But, Dan Butler grounded into an inning-ending double play to keep the game deadlocked.

Chris Martin tossed six innings for Portland, scattering seven hits and allowing two runs.

Sobolewski homered for the Fisher Cats, while Bradley was 3-for-5 for Portland.
