South Portland, which won 16 straight games and reached the Class A softball state championship before falling to undefeated Cony, placed four players on the first team of the Southern Maine Activities Association all-star squad.

Erin Bogdanovich, who pitched the Red Riots past Scarborough in the Western Class A final, was named a first-team pitcher. Teammates Laurine German (second base), Danica Gleason (shortstop) and Olivia Indorf (outfield) joined her as first-team all-stars.

South Portland’s Libby Grant was named an honorable mention all-star. She was also named to the all-academic team.

Scarborough, which finished the season 18-1, placed pitcher Erin Giles, first baseman Alyssa Williamson, outfielder Dominique Burnham and shortstop Mo Hannan on the first team.

Marissa O’Toole was named to the second team for the Red Storm, while Megan Murrell was an honorable mention.

Burnham was selected to the all-academic team.

Julia Geaumont of Thornton Academy dominated the individual awards, winning Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year. In separate voting, she was named Miss Maine Softball, an award that also included Hannan as a finalist.

Janelle Bouchard of Kennebunk won the Defensive Player of the Year award, while Rick Melanson of Noble was the SMAA Coach of the Year.
