BUXTON – Buxton officials Tuesday were still accepting applications for directors of two departments following resignations this spring.

The town has advertised for a public works director and a fire chief.

Buxton Public Works Director David Pinkham resigned in May amid a dispute with selectmen involving department junk disposal.

Fire Chief Bruce E. Mullen, the town’s fourth fire chief in six years, has also quit.

Pinkham said Tuesday he has applied for his former job.

“I want my job back,” Pinkham said Tuesday. “I wouldn’t hold any grudge.”

Dianne Senechal, chairwoman of the Board of Selectmen, said the deadlines for submitting applications would continue until candidates are selected.

Senechal said the interview process has not started for either job.

“We will fill the positions as soon as we have the appropriate candidate,” she said.
