BRUNSWICK
Brunswick police and fire departments responded to a crash involving two pickup trucks along Route 123 on Thursday morning.
Brunswick Police Lt. Tom Garrepy said the crash was reported at 9:05 a.m. Robert Slighting, 65, of Manchester, driving a blue 1995 GMC pickup truck east on Middle Bay Road, allegedly failed to stop for the posted stop sign and struck a silver 2000 GMC pickup truck driven north on Route 123 by 57-year-old Gary Pulsifer of Topsham.
An ambulance took Pulsifer to Parkview Adventist Medical Center in Brunswick for a complaint of neck pain.
Both trucks sustained extensive damage, and police temporarily closed the road so the trucks could be towed from the scene.
No charges were filed.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
