BRUNSWICK
Wild Oats Bakery will hold a fundraiser for Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program (MCHPP) this Sunday, donating a portion of the day’s proceeds to the food pantry and soup kitchen.
In addition, anyone who brings a nonperishable food item to donate to the food pantry also will receive a 10 percent discount coupon for Wild Oats good through the month of July, according to MCHPP interim executive director Karen Parker.
Wild Oats will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, with a MCHPP representative on hand from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to collect donations and provide more information about the organization that last year served approximately 1,000 families in its food pantry and served roughly 27,000 meals in its soup kitchen.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
