FREEPORT — South Freeport Congregational Church is hosting it’s fourth annual Vacation Bible School program next week.
The underwater theme will be “Operation Overboard: Going Deep with God.”
Due to “snow day makeups,” VBS will start later on Monday, with a dive boat dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. The program will continue Tuesday to Friday from 9 a.m. to noon each day.
VBS is broken into three age groups: pre-kindergarten and kindergarten, grades 1 and 2, and grades 3 to 5.
The camp is run by volunteers and the South Freeport Church staff.
The cost per camper is $60. With thanks to Aussie Aquariums in Freeport, there will be a live saltwater tank including clownfish at the event. Please contact Anne Fuehrer, Christian education director and Operation Overboard dive master, at Annesfc@gmail.com or register online at www.southfreeportchurch.com.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
