SCARBOROUGH – The Red Storm girls lacrosse team will be looking to make it three state titles in a row this Saturday at 3 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Stadium after crushing the Marshwood Hawks 13-3 Wednesday.

In three games this postseason, the Red Storm (13-1) seem to be getting better each time they take the field. Thus far they have beaten Bonny Eagle, Kennebunk and Marshwood by a combined total of 35 goals.

Wednesday’s result was no surprise as they topped the Hawks earlier in the season 11-5 at Marshwood High School.

The Red Storm were led once again by the dynamic duo of Laura Przybylowicz and Mary Scott, who combined for nine of the team’s goals. Przybylowicz finished with five while Scott tallied four goals and three assists.

The Red Storm outshot the Hawks 27-6.

The Red Storm shut out the Hawks and limited them to just two shots in the first half as they took a 6-0 lead into the break.

The score was 8-0 before the Hawks (11-4) finally got on the board thanks to a Jillian Gori tally. The Hawks would make a quick rally when Korinne Bohunksy and Alli Schoff scored the next two to make it 8-3.

After Scarborough coach Marcia Wood called a timeout, the Red Storm regrouped and crushed an hopes of a Hawks’ comeback scoring the games’ next five goals.
