
Messerman is certified through AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America), NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine), Zumba Fitness, and Aquatic Exercise. She has worked as a fitness professional for the last 15 years, teaching fitness classes and personal training for fitness facilities, elementary schools, high school, collegiate and adult athletes.
Messerman teaches classes on Mondays and Wednesdays at Maine Pines Racquet & Fitness in Brunswick, as well as classes at Bowdoin College, and works with numerous clients for personal training.
She was recognized for this award at the State House Hall of Flags in Augusta on June 6.
