BATH — The 11th annual Blue and White Golf Classic was held at the Bath Country Club on Friday.

Over 160 sponsors and 200 golfers contributed $46,000 to the Morse High School Scholarship Fund in the name of this year’s 50th Morse High School reunion class, the Class of 1962.

Opening festivities around the first tee included the recognition of this year’s Morse High School scholarship recipients, the playing of “The Blue and the White,” the National Anthem by the Morse High School band and the naming of this year’s Honorary Chairperson, Art Mayo.

A 1954 Morse graduate and a graduate of the University of Maine and the University of Southern Maine, Mayo has long provided service to the Bath area as a former legislator and state senator. He was instrumental in the formation of our local community college system on the former Bath Memorial Hospital site.

This year’s Brud Stover Award winners for gross score were Dan Hart, Mike Hart, Sue Hart, Terry Jones and Chris Marco. Secondplace finishers were Mike Bennett, Kevin Crosman, Pete Flaherty, Joe Mangiulli and Greg Page. Third-place gross finishers were Rick Davis, Bruce Lee, Dana Libby, Pat Manuel and Garrett Olson.
