RICHMOND — The Board of Selectmen will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the town office. Among other business items, the agenda includes board action on the resignation of Regional School Unit 2 board member Robin Thayer.
Thayer won a two-year term on the RSU 2 school board in June 2011 as a write-in candidate.
Thayer said Tuesday that she is resigning, “regrettably, due to the fact that I’ve had an opportunity that is going to take me to a different part of the state. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on the board. I have learned a tremendous amount of new material over this past year. I feel very positive about the board as a whole and I think the RSU is in very capable hands with (Virgel) Hammonds at the helm.”
Also up for discussion at Wednesday’s selectmen’s meeting is the town’s North East Mobile Health Services ambulance service contract and discussion about establishing a volunteer committee for the community garden.
Selectmen will also consider adopting the General Assistance overall maximums; whether to allow a “bring your own bottle” event at the American Legion for fundraising purposes; and Holbrook Excavating’s request to purchase a public works department truck.
