Eagles top Messer 15-3
The Westbrook Eagles defeated Messer 15-3 on Monday night at Warren Field. The first-place Eagles put the game away early with 10 runs in the first two innings. The big blow was a bases-loaded triple by Derek Klement in the second.
Michael Young picked up the win for the Eagles, allowing only two runs, and Landon Sjoberg closed the game, striking out three of the four batters he faced. Repeat hitters for the Eagles were Sjoberg with three, Young, Klement (5 RBIs), Cam Morrison and Jack Shibles. The lone repeat hitters for team Messer was Caleb Barlow, who went 3 for 3.
Eagles edge Tickets 3-1
The Eagles toppled Tickets 3-1 in a fine pitching duel at the LL complex. Winning pitcher Landon Sjoberg allowed only two hits and struck out 14 batters over six innings. Payson Hodgkins pitched well for Tickets as he scattered seven hits while striking out 10. The Eagles took the lead in the second, scoring twice when Cam Morrison doubled home Sjoberg and Jack Shibles singled home Morrison. Tickets scored in the fourth when Jay Marean singled and advanced on a hard-hit ball by Hodgkins. The Eagles added an insurance run in the fifth when Derek Klement singled and used his speed to score on a wild pitch. Repeat hitters for the Eagles were Klement, Sjoberg and Morrison. Marean had two hits for Tickets.
Eagles tame Lions 9-1
The Eagles tamed the Lions 9-1 under the lights Saturday on a perfect night for baseball. Michael Young pitched a very strong game for the Eagles as he held the Lions to one run over five innings. Ethan McCoubrey closed out the Lions in the sixth to ice the game. Offensively the Eagles were led by a red-hot Derek Klement, who recorded four straight hits. In addition, Young helped himself offensively with three hits and three RBIs. Noah Logan pitched well early for the Lions and Jacob Connolly was a hitting machine, going 3 for 3 with a hard-hit double.
Tickets top Lions 10-3
Tickets was lead by Justin Coppeta on the mound. He pitched a complete game, striking out 10 while allowing just six hits. Ian Douglas lead the attack going 4 for 4. Justin Coppeta, Peysen Hodgkins and Jay Marean added two hits a piece. Liam Coolidge and Jacob Connelly each had two hits for the Lions.
Eagles defeat Tickets
The Eagles defeated Tickets 3-1 in a well-played game. Landon Sjoberg pitched a complete-game two-hitter with 14 strikeouts. The Eagles offensive attack was lead by Landon Sjoberg and Cameron Morrison, who had 2 hits each. Jay Marean had the only two hits for Tickets.
Sappi defeats DQ 13-8
Sappi won behind the pitchingof Tanner Laflamme, Brady Desjardins and Tyler Brackett. Repeat hitters for Sappi were: Jack Stone with four hits, Tanner Laflamme with three hits, and Brady Desjardins with two. Brandt Herbert pitched well for DQ, who were led by Cooper Mullett with two doubles and a single. Chris Larose and Isaac Noyes each had two hits.
Sappi beats DQ 14-8
Sappi scored six runs in the seventh inning to break an 8-8 tie and defeat DQ 14-8. Sappi was led offensively by Tanner LaFlame, who had three hits, and Jack Stone, who had three hits, including a bases-loaded single in the seventh. With the score tied 8-8 in the sixth inning DQ loaded the bases with one out, but Sappi’s Tyler Bracket masterfully pitched out of the jam to force extra innings. Brandt Herbert pitched four strong innings for DQ. DQ was led offensively by Cooper Mullett, who had two doubles and a single.
DQ over Kiwanis
DQ had home runs from Isaac Noyes and Corey McKone as DQ scored nine runs in the fourth inning to beat Kiwanis 20-7. Isaac Noyes added two doubles and Corey McKone also pitched solid innings, allowing only one run. DQ’s Deng Jany and Sam LaRose recorded their first hits. Kiwanis was led offensively by Eli Higgins, who had three hits, and Matt Keefe, who had a double.

Phoenix tops Cavallaro
Phoenix beat Cavallaro 9-7 as Sarah Gowen had 13 strikeouts. Reilley Joyce had 10 strikeouts for Cavallaro.
