WHITEFIELD — A 20-year-old man had to be flown by Lifeflight helicopter to a burn treatment center Sunday night after a campfire in someone’s backyard flared up and burned the man’s head and arms.

Lynn Talacko, Whitefield’s deputy chief for emergency medical services, said the man, whose name and address were not available, suffered first degree burns.

Talacko said he did not know which hospital the burn victim was taken to.

The incident took place around 9:45 p.m. at 22 Chamberlain Brook Lane in Whitefield.
