LISBON FALLS — Kimber Morse tossed a complete-game one-hit shutout as the Lisbon High School girls softball team bounced back from a loss earlier in the week with a 9-0 Mountain Valley Conference victory over Winthrop on Wednesday.

The Greyhounds improved to 6-3 and visit Carrabec on Friday (4:30 p.m.), while the Ramblers dropped to 3-6.

Kailin Hill was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Lisbon, while Brooke Lawrence singled and doubled. Bailey Madore and Alexa Harmon each singled and drove in a run.

Morse walked six and struck out two.

The lone Winthrop hit came off the bat of Alison Sekerek, while Ramblers pitchers Amy Belanger and Krissy Doughty combined to allowed six hits, walked 10 and strike out eight.

The visiting Falcons dropped their third consecutive Western Maine Conference affair, as Wells scored four runs in the sixth inning for the come-from-behind win.

Dani Perry was 2-for-4 to lead Freeport’s (4-7) six-hit attack. Pitcher Leigh Wyman struck out eight, walked six and permitted nine hits.

Lauren Bame struck out four and walked one for the mound win, and Meghan Young, Sophie Lamb and Maddie Taylor each singled twice for Wells (4-7).

Freeport is slated to visit Lake Region today at 4 p.m.

Taylor Pare smacked a tworun home run to highlight a four-run outburst in the sixth inning as Mt. Ararat went on to post a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win on Wednesday.

The Eagles improved to 4-7 and are scheduled to host Skowhegan on Friday.

In the Eagles’ 13-hit effort, Pare had a single, double, home run and five RBIs, Mallory Nelson three singles and three RBIs, and Dana Green two singles, a double and two RBIs.

Emily Turner had four singles for the Blue Devils.

Kim Leslie went the distance for Mt. Ararat with three strikeouts and a like number of walks.

The host Eddies pounded out 12 hits, handing the Dragons their ninth consecutive setback.

Kelsey Butcher earned the mound win with a three-hit shutout.

Mel Bryant, Kelly Bridges and Leah Andreotti each singled for Brunswick, 1-11 and scheduled to host Brewer on Saturday at noon.

On the mound, KK Teel and Ashley Howe shared the duties.
