BRUNSWICK — John H. Grondin, 84 of Freeport, Maine died Wednesday May 9, 2012 at the Skolfield House.
He was born in Lisbon, Maine on September 27, 1927, a son of Henry and Katherine Grondin.
John retired from Eastland Shoe in 1993 to care for his wife Margaret of 30 years who died August 1998.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, reading, cribbage and playing checkers. John was member for many years at the Slovak Catholic Association Lisbon Falls.
He is survived by his son John H Grondin, Jr. and his daughter Jessica of Standish; two sisters Mary Paul of North Branford, Connecticut, and Evelyn Hubley of Branford
Conn. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great great nieces and nephews from Arizona, Connecticut, New York, Maine, Texas, Virginia and will be sadly missed.
He was predeceased by his sister Isabelle Whalen of Lisbon Falls, Robert Grondin of Lewiston, Clarence Grondin of Brunswick, and Martina Shaw of Colorado.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Slovak Catholic Association Avery St. Lisbon Falls. Arrangements are in the care of the Brackett Funeral Home, Brunswick. Condolences may be made online at www.brackettfuneralhome.com.
