BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick Downtown Association and volunteers will look to put a spit shine on downtown Saturday as part of the association’s annual Clean Sweep event.
The cleanup, from 8 a.m. to noon, is a collaboration between volunteers, the BDA, the Department of Public Works, Brunswick Parks and Recreation, and other civic organizations and volunteers.
Those interested in helping with the cleanup effort should check in at the BDA table in front of Senter Place on Saturday morning. No registration is necessary and each volunteer will receive a work assignment and a free long-sleeve Tshirt while supplies last.
Volunteers are asked to bring work gloves, a metal gardening rake or a broom if possible.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
