TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat High School softball team and coaches are scheduled to hold a one-day skills clinic on May 19 from 9 a.m. to noon.
The clinic will focus on hitting and fielding skills. Also, the mental aspects of the game and proper apparel, sportsmanship and teamwork will be taught.
Former Mt. Ararat softball standout and Trinity College second baseman Miranda Riendeau-Card will also be on hand. Riendeau-Card was the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 2011.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the cost is $20. This is a fundraiser for the high school program, and all proceeds go directly to the softball program.
To reserve a spot, email Allen Graffam at graffam@link75.org
The 24 registrants will receive a free Mt. Ararat Tshirt. All participants will receive a door prize. Pizza and drinks will be provided, with lunch served at noon.
In the event of rain, the clinic will be held inside the high school gymnasium.
