TOPSHAM — Rowley Jones and Haley Michaud each scored three goals as the Mt. Ararat High School girls lacrosse team rolled to a 16-3 victory over Mountain Valley on Monday.

Maggie Bouchard, Sierra Gilley and Cat Johnson chipped in two goals apiece for the 3-2 Eagles, who won their third consecutive contest and hosts Messalonskee on Thursday (6:30 p.m.). Rebecca Schuman, Sara Berry and Zoe Bradshaw finalized the scoring for Mt. Ararat with one goal.

Ayla Allen had all three goals for Mountain Valley (1-5).

Bailey Sullivan and Anna Bruning manned the net for the Eagles, combining on six saves, while Jordan True stopped 11 shots for Mountain Valley.

“Great game with Gardiner … Morse scored first with two quick goals and it stayed a two-goal game through four quarters,” said Morse coach Jay Paulus of his Monday clash on the road. At the half the scored was tied 6-6.

Morse (2-3) has three games scheduled this week with Lincoln Academy (home, Wednesday), Camden Hills and Mountain

Valley.

Alexander Paulus led with three goals, four assists and four groundballs, while Matt Buczkowski had three goals, Dylan Crowell a goal and three groundballs, Zach Hershey a goal and two groundballs, Aaron Nadeau an assist, Schuyler Mace seven groundballs, Oliver Kruze three groundballs and Ethan Mattice four groundballs.

Standout defense was turned in by Kevin Tolan (two groundballs), Jay Saunders (two groundballs), Kyle Perry (three groundballs) and Codi Fitzgerald.

Goaltender Alex Small came away with 15 saves.
