BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick Downtown Association (BDA) seeks volunteers to help with its annual Clean Sweep, which will run from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.
The BDA will work with the town’s departments of public works and parks and recreation to spruce up the downtown. Projects include sidewalk sweeping, weeding and various other chores.
No registration is necessary.
“Those willing to help should show up the morning of May 12 and check in at the BDA table in front of Senter Place on Maine Street,” a BDA release states. “Each will be given a work assignment and a free long sleeve Tshirt (while quantities and sizes last). Volunteers are asked to bring work gloves, a metal gardening rake, and/or broom if possible.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
