FREEPORT — On June 9, Freeport is scheduled to host the third annual Bow Street Market Tortoise and Hare 5K Road Race.
The race starts promptly at 9 a.m., and works its way through downtown Freeport, starting and finishing at the Bow Street Market.
A large number of prizes will be offered in many categories. In the Tortoise category, runners predict their time and win a prize. In the Hare category, they can be the fastest and win a prize.
Overall male and female winners will each receive a $100 gift card. Male and female Tortoise and Hare Prizes for age groups are: 12- and-under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and above.
The preregistration fee is $17. Runners who register before May 26 will be guaranteed a T-shirt. Race-day registration is $20.

Proceeds will benefit the Freeport Running Boosters supporting youth running in Durham, Freeport and Pownal.
