WISCASSET — The Margaret Ellis Community Garden located at the Morris Farm is now accepting applications for plots to grow fruits and vegetables for the 2012 growing season.

Garden plots measure 20 feet by 10 feet and cost $25 for a yearly rental.

“Community gardening is an opportunity to grow food for your pantry in the company of other like-minded people and is an excellent solution for people whose home yards do not offer adequate space, sunlight or soil for gardening,” a Morris Farm Trust release states. “The Margaret Ellis Community Gardens includes a common plot where vegetables are grown and donated to the local food bank.”

For an application, call 882- 6592 or email delketcham@yahoo.com. Scholarships are available upon request.

The Morris Farm Trust is a nonprofit educational farm located at 156 Gardiner Road. For more information, call 882-4080, email info@morrisfarm.org or visit www.morrisfarm.org.
