TOPSHAM — Local American Legion posts will gather Sunday to honor several local veterans and their families for their service in the U.S. military.
The ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. at the American Legion Post 202 on Foreside Road. More than 40 area veterans and families will be recognized with Maine Honorary Certificates of Appreciation, Silver Star Honorable Service Medals or Gold Star Honorable Service Medals. Three women will be receiving a new tribute in the form of a silver commemorative coin, in addition to their honorable service certificate
Sunday event will be hosted by American Legion Post 20 in Brunswick in conjunction with American Legion Post 171 in Harpswell and American Legion Post 202 in Topsham.
