The time has come for us older Americans to engage in the battle to save our wonderful country. Those of us over the age of 60, who were greatly blessed to be born as children of the “Greatest Generation,” have an obligation to restore this nation to the high moral and ethical standards our forebears maintained, even as they went through the terrible deprivations of the Great Depression and the horrors of World War II.

Boomers and pre-boomers rebelled against any and all authority. We turned onto drugs and booze and and tuned out all the nobler things of life. When the going got tough, we walked away from our marriages and responsibilities, in many instances leaving our children to fend for themselves. Instant gratification became the end-all and be-all for many of us. Love of country and patriotism became a dirty word.

We have driven God out of practically every area of our lives except for the rare occasion when tragedy strikes; then when the crisis passes we revert right back to our godless behavior.

We boomer generations have much to be ashamed of. The dreadful condition of America’s culture did not just happen overnight, it has been in decay for decades now. Most of us turned a blind eye as decadence and debauchery became the everyday norm in our society.

The election of 2012 is without a doubt the most important election since the founding of our nation. To keep Barack Obama in office is almost guaranteed to seal the doom of America.

President Obama and Democratic Party have mastered the arts of class, ethnic, racial and gender warfare. We are soon to be subjected to a barrage of savage political attack that will be like nothing we have ever experienced. Democrats have so succeeded in pitting Americans against each other that we are close to being as divided as we were during the Civil War.

We owe it to our children and grandchildren to save America while we still can.
