The birthday celebration, held March 20 at Harriet Beecher Stowe Elementary School in Brunswick, was sponsored by Cadette Troop 2202.
Amanda Pickens exclaimed, “I loved the dancing, it was the best of all the fun things we did!”
Another noted that the limbo was her favorite part.
Along with dancing, the girls decorated a birthday cupcake, sang songs, and watched some movies from the Girl Scouts’ early years.
Scouts are taught that it is important to give back to their community, so each troop contributed items to create 100 birthday boxes, consisting of a cake mix, icing, candles, small toy and several other items for a “Happy Birthday.”
These boxes, along with the cards made by the Scouts, were given to Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
