STANDISH – Students at Saint Joseph’s College will seek to break a Guinness World Record next week.
On Thursday, April 26, the Student Government Association, along with the Student Activities department, will attempt to break the record for “most people wearing sunglasses in the dark.” They are doing this with the hope of involving the community.
The record now belongs to Enclave nightclub in Chicago, Ill., with a total of 671 people participating.
Last year, the title was held by fans of the Texas Rangers, who attended a June game. The sunglasses were provided and worn by more than 33,000 people, though the official number recorded was 424, as only two sections in the ballpark were approved to be counted by Guinness World Record officials.
The community is welcome to join the festivities, which will take place in the center of campus in front of Alfond Hall at 6:30 p.m. For more information, contact Matt Gawel in the Student Activities office, 893-6609.
