WESTBROOK – Braving the rising heat Monday morning, 110 young runners took part in the Patriots Day Kids Road Race in Westbrook, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Westbrook-Gorham.

Jesse Orach, a 12th-grader from Gorham, won the two-mile race in 10:57. Pyajock Pan, an 11th-grade student from South Portland, was the first female finisher, in 13:06. From the Lakes Region Weekly area, Bonny Eagle’s Mary Szatkowski was the top finisher, with teammates Kristen Glennie and Samantha Cox not far behind.
